CNAF Assesses Potential for MSME Financing in the Transportation and Trade Sectors

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT CIMB Niaga Auto Finance (CNAF) assesses that the service and industrial sectors remain the most potential micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) segments for financing in 2026.

President Director of CIMB Niaga Auto Finance, Ristiawan Suherman, stated that the funding needs of MSMEs in these two sectors remain quite high as business activities continue to operate.

"The MSME sector, which is considered to have significant financing potential, comes from the service and industrial sectors, particularly in transportation and trade," Ristiawan told Kontan, Friday (June 5, 2026).

In line with this potential, CNAF has disbursed Rp 542 billion in new financing (bookings) for the MSME segment as of April 2026. This figure is a decrease compared to Rp 569 billion in the same period the previous year.

Although financing opportunities remain open, Ristiawan stated that the company continues to prioritize the principle of prudence in disbursing financing to MSMEs.

According to Ristiawan, the main challenge in distributing financing to MSMEs currently still stems from economic uncertainty.

Changing consumer consumption patterns and evolving market conditions are factors that both financing companies and businesses need to pay close attention to.

"On the other hand, the need for MSME funding remains open, as businesses strive to maintain business continuity," he continued.
