Multipurpose Financing: The Largest Contributor to Multifinance Financing as of April 2026

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported that multi-purpose financing remained the largest contributor to financing in the multi-finance industry as of April 2026.

In detail, Agusman, Chief Executive for Supervision of Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions at the OJK, explained that multi-purpose financing disbursed by the multi-finance industry reached IDR 258.73 trillion as of April 2026.

This segment accounted for 50.27% of total industry financing.

"The value of multi-purpose financing grew 2.39% compared to the same period last year," he said in a written answer sheet to the OJK's Financial Report on Sunday (June 7, 2026).

Meanwhile, Agusman stated that investment financing was the second-largest contributor, reaching IDR 167.75 trillion as of April 2026. Its share was 32.59% of total industry financing.

The value of investment financing contracted by 2.05% compared to the same period last year.

Agusman explained that multifinance working capital financing reached IDR 55.22 trillion as of April 2026, representing 10.73% of the total industry. This represents a 10.64% increase compared to the same period last year.

The total value of multifinance industry financing reached IDR 514.65 trillion as of April 2026, representing a 2.08% increase compared to the same period last year.

Furthermore, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that several challenges could hamper the future performance of multifinance financing. Agusman cited economic dynamics, financing quality, and risk management.

"Therefore, companies need to continue strengthening the application of prudential principles and risk management in financing distribution," Agusman said.

For information, the gross Non-Performing Financing (NPF) rate for the multifinance industry as of April 2026 was 2.89%. This figure represents a significant improvement compared to the previous month's 2.83%.

The NPF figure for April 2026 also increased compared to the 2.43% recorded in April 2025.
