Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — PT Mandiri Utama Finance (MUF) recorded 18% year-on-year (YoY) growth in new car financing in April 2026.

MUF Director, Dapot Parasian S. Sinaga, stated that this segment contributed around 58% to total financing. To maintain this positive performance, MUF continues to strengthen collaboration with dealers and strategic partners.

"Then, we're presenting competitive financing programs and increasing service convenience through digitizing the financing process," he told Bisnis on Wednesday (June 10, 2026).

He continued, saying that MUF is also continuing to strengthen synergies with Bank Mandiri and BSI through joint financing to ensure reliable funding to support financing expansion.

Therefore, Dapot sees new car financing prospects continuing through the first half of 2026, in line with improving automotive sales trends.

"And the demand for vehicles is maintained, while still prioritizing the principle of prudence," he said.

For your information, the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) recorded wholesale car sales, or distribution from manufacturers to dealers, reaching 80,776 units in April 2026. This figure represents a 55% year-on-year increase compared to the 52,108 units sold in April 2025.

According to the MUF, this increase was driven by continued strong market demand and economic activity, as well as support from competitive financing programs.

"Synergy between automotive industry players and multifinance companies is helping maintain the growth momentum of the national vehicle market," he emphasized.

For your information, Agusman, Chief Executive for Supervision of Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Micro, and Small, and Medium Enterprises (MFIs), and Other Financial Services Institutions (FSIs), stated that financing disbursement for four-wheeled motor vehicles and transport vehicles by multifinance companies increased by 1.67% year-on-year in April 2026.
